Course Options

Certificate III in Carpentry 

With this qualification, you'll learn how to construct, install, finish and repair structures and fixtures for residential, commercial and industrial developments. You will work with a range of tools, equipment and materials to construct frames for walls and ceilings, construct pitched and advanced roofs and eaves, and erect and dismantle formwork for footings and slabs on the ground.

Certificate III in Bricklaying / Blocklaying

With this qualification, you will learn to work with building materials to build veneer or full brick constructions. You will work with clay, concrete, masonry and other building materials to create walls, partitions, arches, steps, stairs and other brick or block constructions. You'll learn how to build curved structures and create ornamental brickwork.

Certificate IV in Residential Building Drafting

This Qualification will teach you to draft residential buildings within the building and construction industry. You'll develop the knowledge and skills you'll need to draft residential buildings, both single and double-storey. The skills you gain are practical and hands-on and as part of the course you will be required to design and document a residential project with an industry mentor.

Certificate IV in Building & Construction 

With this qualification, you'll learn how to plan building construction work, apply structural principles and supervise on-site construction. You'll learn how to apply building codes, and meet standards and legal requirements to maintain industry quality. You'll also gain business skills such as how to manage contracts and small business finances.

Diploma of Building & Construction

This course will teach you building and construction theory and practices related to low and medium-rise buildings. You will extend your knowledge to building surveying, job supervision and safety management.

Diploma of Building Design

You will learn specialist skills in building design for residential and small-scale commercial projects. You will learn to understand client needs to develop building design concepts and create sustainable design solutions. Utilising a suite of software programs for computer-aided drafting (CAD) and presentation, you will produce and present drawings and models.

English Proficiency

Usually, you will need to demonstrate you have competent English skills by showing a test results such as IELTS 5.5

High School Certificate 

You will need to provide a copy of your high school diploma to show that you have at least completed junior high school (Grade 10)

Vaccinations 

You will need to provide evidence that you are immunised for Pertussis, MMR (if non-immune), and
Varicella (if seronegative)

Child Safety Certificate

You will be required to undergo a Working with Children Background Check and receive a positive notice and Blue Card

Steps towards an Australian Skilled Visa

As the occupation of Bricklayer, Construction Manager are currently on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List  (MLTSSL), once qualified and with the necessary professional experience, it may be possible obtain a skilled or employer-sponsored visa that will allow you to continue to live and work in Australia once you have completed your Australian studies.

Complete your 2-year course

You will need to study a course or package of courses with a duration of at least 2 years,  that will provide you with at least a Diploma level qualification. Your Study Gurus Counselor will help you enrol in a course that will meet the duration and qualification levels to become eligible to apply for a graduate visa.

Apply for your 485 Graduate Visa

After you have studied for 2 years and completed your vocational placement during your studies (most education providers will arrange this for you), you may be eligible to apply for and receive the Temporary Graduate Visa. You will need to obtain a provisional skills assessment and demonstrate your English proficiency. The graduate visa will allow you to live and work in Australia for up to 18 months so you can gain professional experience.
